KostHub: Boarding House Data & Insight Platform
Information about boarding houses (kost) in Bandung is scattered, inconsistent, and often invalid, making the search process time-consuming and expensive. Existing platforms lack deep analytics for property owners and seekers. The goal of KostHub is to build a transparent and efficient, data-driven kost ecosystem by providing relevant property data and insights to support better decision-making for all stakeholders.

How the work unfolded
Responding to the challenges of increasing urbanization and competition in the property market, KostHub was developed as a centralized data and insight platform. The project started by identifying the key pain points for both kost seekers and owners: messy data and a lack of analytical tools.
The process involved developing three core solutions:
- GIS Kost Map: An interactive map was created to visualize the location and distribution of kost properties, allowing for intuitive geographic searches.
- Market Intelligence Dashboard: We built a comprehensive analytics dashboard that provides users with relevant market insights, such as price trends based on facilities, to support strategic decisions.
- AI Assistant: To personalize the user experience, an AI Assistant was integrated. This feature includes:
- Smart Budgeting: A tool that predicts a user's ideal budget and provides personalized kost recommendations.
- KostHub Chatbot: An AI-powered virtual assistant to answer user queries in natural language, simplifying the search process.
The project was piloted in the city of Bandung and operates on a B2B SaaS model, offering subscriptions to kost owners and data partnerships with property organizations. This project successfully achieved finalist status in the 2025 MAPID WebGIS competition.
