Decision Support System for Qurban Animal Selection Using the Weighted Product (WP) Method
Qurban participants often face difficulties in selecting the right animal because it must meet specific criteria, such as age, weight, and overall condition. Additionally, dissatisfaction can arise when an animal chosen on behalf of a group does not meet expectations. This project aims to solve this problem by developing a decision support system using the Weighted Product (WP) method to help evaluate and select Qurban animals. The system is designed to provide recommendations based on criteria like age, weight, health, cage environment, care, price, and payment method.

How the work unfolded
This project was developed for a Decision Support System (SPK) course, where it received a perfect score.
The project followed a structured research methodology:
- Problem Identification: We identified the core problem—the difficulty of selecting a Qurban animal that meets specific criteria and user expectations.
- Solution Design: The proposed solution was to create a decision support system using the Weighted Product (WP) method to facilitate the evaluation and selection process. This system is expected to simplify data entry, perform automatic calculations, and display a ranking of recommended animals.
- Methodology: The process began with data collection, followed by problem-solving and system design. The core of the project was implementing the Weighted Product method. The steps included defining criteria and weights, normalizing the weights, inputting alternative values, and calculating the final vector scores to display a ranking.
- System Criteria: Key criteria for evaluation included Age (with a weight of 5), Weight (weight of 5), Health (weight of 5), Care (weight of 4), Environment (weight of 3), Payment Method (weight of 2), and Price (weight of 3).
- Calculation and Ranking: The project calculated the normalized weights (Wj) , the Vector S for each alternative (Si) , and the Vector V (Vi). The final ranking was determined by the Vector V values, with the highest value indicating the best choice.
- Result: The final ranking showed that "Hewan 2" (Animal 2) received the highest score of 0.233, placing it in the first rank
